All horses are different, with their own unique personality's which can make
training a challenge. At Double J Farms our horse training motto is the horse
must be quieter at the end then it was when we started and we strive to meet
that goal in every training session. We use resistance free progressive
training techniques combined with Natural Horsemanship to produce a calm,
quiet, and respectful horse that works willingly for his rider.

Horses are highly intelligent and each one has their own learning curve, so
we look for the milestones of understanding before moving on to the next
phase of training. This ensures the horse truly understands what we are
teaching them and builds a solid foundation for all future training. All horses
that come here for training also receive extensive bomb proofing training to
insure they will be safer for anyone to ride including children or beginners.

Our trainer is also a Certified Riding Instructor, so she understands what it
takes to improve the horse as well as the rider. She encourages all owners to
take riding lessons with their horses to help them communicate better and
ensure the horse and owner will meet their riding goals in the future.

At Double J Farms we offer horse training by the day, week, or month to
meet your needs. Our trainer is willing to travel and training sessions for
simple things like halter breaking or foal imprinting can be done at you
home if you have a good place to do them. We prefer to do weekly or monthly
training sessions at our farm when more extensive training is needed such as
colt starting or breaking to drive.
COLT STARTING: Braking to ride
usually requires 30-60 days of training.

HALTER BREAKING & GROUND
WORK: Ground work makes a horse
safer to handle and helps build respect.

ROUND PEN & LUNGE LINE: Teaches
a horse to move forward, its gaits and
helps builds respect.

FOAL IMPRINTING: When done
within the first 24-48 hours of life it will
produce a foal that is calm, quiet, people
loving, and  easy to handle.

BOMB PROOFING: Teaches a horse to
tolerate noises and scary objects. Makes
them safer to ride and handle.

BASIC TRAINING FOR THE TRAIL
OR SHOW RING: Basic training every
horse needs to become quiet,  confident,
and respectful on the trail or in the show
ring.
DRESSAGE TRAINING: Dressage
training will develop a horse that has
superior balance, movement, is respectful
and completely obedient under saddle. It
is one of the most highly respected forms
of horse training in the world. Our
instructor has the experience to train and
advance your horse through 3-4 level
dressage.

TRICK TRAINING: Trick training will
open your horses mind and makes them
want to learn. Teaching tricks like giving
kisses & hugs, bowing, saying yes or no,
counting, ect increases their attention
spans and helps them focus on you, plus
will amaze your family and friends.
BREAKING TO DRIVE: Breaking a
horse to pull a cart or wagon usually
requires 30-60 days of training.

WESTERN OR ENGLISH PLEASURE:
Training for the show ring. Not every
horse has the type of movement it takes to
become a champion, but proper training
can develop a quiet and confident horse
that is a pleasure to ride anywhere.

TRAINING FOR BARREL RACING
OR POLE BENDING: Starting on the
patterns for barrels and poles. Coaching
and riding lessons to improve your times
and help you ride a winner.

TRAILER LOADING: Teaching horses to
quietly and willingly load in trailers.

TROUBLE SHOOTING: Solving
behavior, riding, and handling problems
through progressive training.

COACHING AND RIDING LESSONS:
Receive riding lessons to help you practice
and improve your riding skills and coaching
at horse shows to help you meet your
riding goals.
